Some symptoms of common clutch faults are:

Slipping Clutch – a number of factors can cause this, but the end result is the same. Vehicle speed is lower than normal compared to engine speed, eventually leading to a total loss of drive.
Clutch Drag – Most likely to be a cable fault or an internal fault. 1st and reverse gears are the first to be difficult to select.
Gearbox Shudder – Vehicle shudders when moving off. This could be due to a simple gearbox mount failing or a fault within the clutch itself.

There are two types of flywheel’s fitted to most vehicles, a Dual Mass Flywheel and a Solid Flywheel.
